PLANE FROM THE US:
The old fashion, but established commercial airliner is still the easiest, cheapest and fastest way to get to our island. To safe some real bucks, you should plan to leave from New York where you can find some real bargains to Athens ( $400 for adults, kids usually pay 75%, round trip) , depending of course on the time of the season. Flight time to Athens is approximately 10 hours.

CHANIA TO OUR HOUSE:
A public bus is available, but only recommended for the adventurous traveler (little luggage, durable kids). It's cheap but takes about 5 hours to reach us. A taxi is most convenient, but expensive ($40-$60).
Renting a car is the most recommended, a reservation from the States will help to get a good deal (small 4-door $70/week free mileage). Travel time is approximately 2 1/2 hours.

PLANE FROM EUROPE:
Fly direct to Iraklion or preferable to Chania from any major city in Europe. Cheap flights are always available and flight time is approximately 3 hrs from Germany.

RHETIMNON TO OUR HOUSE:
If you arrive by boat you will arrive in Rhetimnon the closest city to our home. By car through the most scenic drive you will arrive in Myrthios in about 1 hour. And if you are a very good friend we might pick you up at the harbor.
